METALLICA: 50,000 Fans Expected At Sofia Concert

July 25, 2008

According to Novinite.com, more than 50,000 Bulgarian fans are counting the hours before METALLICA's concert at the Vasil Levski national stadium in Sofia on Friday (July 25).

This is only METALLICA's second concert in Bulgaria, with the band having previously played the country's second largest city — Plovdiv — nine years ago.

American bands THE SWORD and DOWN will provide support at tonight's show.

According to VisitBulgaria.net, METALLICA arrived in Bulgaria with "tons of pyrotechnical equipment" transported in "15 long vehicles," with the illuminations alone weighing more than 40 tons.

METALLICA's concert in Bulgaria is being organized by Balkan Entertainment with support from Kamenitza, Coca-Cola and Ford Moto-Phoe.
